Mission Statement:
(As
a church: What do we want to do? What do we hope to achieve?)
Our Mission: "Connecting
people to Christ, nurturing them in love and unity, equipping
them to do His will and work."
To unpack it a little, we can state it like
this:
Our mission:
[is to obey Christ's ‘Great Commission' and make disciples by]:
connecting people to Christ
[worship → believers, evangelism/mission → non-believers],
nurturing them in love and unity
[fellowship/”community”, ministry, pastoral care],
equipping them to do His will and
work
[discipleship].
(*NOTE: Everything [in brackets] included here for explanation
purposes only.)
Our Overall ‘Church Planting' Mission
Statement:
"To reach and disciple lost people for Christ
through the New Testament strategy of continually planting Great Commission
churches - that is, biblically based, spiritually healthy, culturally
relevant Christian communities that are passionately committed to
walking with God (i.e. obeying the Great Commandments) and being His
witnesses as active and integral participants in their church's local community
(i.e. obeying the Great Commission)."
{Rick Warren: "A great church is built on the
foundation of a great commitment to the Great Commandment and the Great
Commission."} |
